DIY Christmas hats for small animals

Hi readers, I have transferred this from my other blog "Guinea pigs r cute"
I did these for my piggies and they looked really cute so I thought I would do a how to post.

What you'll need:
Red, green or white felt.
White pompoms(however many you need)
Christmas buttons(optional)
Sewing needle(fine if possible)
Sewing thread(colour should be the same as felt if possible)
Sharp scissors(if you are a small child ask an adult to do the cutting for you)

Step 1
Cut a circle of felt the right size for your small.

Step 2
When making the cone cut a slit to the centre of the circle.

Step 3
Overlap the edges of the circle slightly and sew a neat line of stitches with your needle to make it stay together.

Step 4
Time to sew on the pompom. To sew the pompom on go through the point of the hat and thread the pompom onto it and go up and down a few times to secure it on.

Step 5
If you want to add a button or two this is how to do it. Put the needle through where ever you want to put them and thread it onto the needle. Then pull the needle right through and down through the other hole. Repeat this a few times for as many buttons you want to put on.

Step 6
Finished.

Looks good to the side...or on the top of their head.

I hope you will try making these,

Book Worm :)
